holiday programs

In 2008 St.Martins has fantastic acting workshops on offer during each school-holiday period, for ages 5 through to 16. Each workshop is conducted by an industry professional who wants to share their knowledge.
All workshops take place within St. Martins Youth Arts Centre.

Drama Club

Ages 5 to 8

This workshop explores story-telling and imagination through games, puppetry, music, improvisation and even painting. Children will have the chance to build friendships while learning how to better express themselves. The workshop will conclude with a short performance for family and friends.

Times: Monday to Friday 9:30 to 11:30am
Final presentations: Friday at 11:00am
Cost: $170.00

Theatre Freaks

Ages 9 to 12

This workshop is especially designed for young aspiring actors. Children will explore the skills essential to exciting and dynamic theatre; improvisation, clowning, character-play and imaginative storytelling. Participants will have the opportunity to build friendships while learning the fundamental skills of great acting. The workshop will conclude with a short performance for family and friends on the final day.

Times: Monday to Friday 12noon to 4pm
Final presentations: Friday at 3:30pm
Cost: $240.00

Stage Diving

Ages 13 to 16

This workshop is especially designed for teenagers, utilizing exercises and techniques
favoured by professional actors all over the world. For Week One of the WINTER program, we are offering a SCREEN INTENSIVE. Working with an industry professional, the week includes sessions on script analysis, character development as well as technical components of screen acting. It’s a great way to make new friends who share your interests and a wonderful opportunity to get comfortable working on camera!

Times: Monday to Friday 10am till 4pm
Final presentations: Friday at 3:30pm
Cost: $350.00

Pick up and drop off

We are located at 28 St. Martins Lane, South Yarra. This is where you will drop off your child.
Take care to note the specific times and days for each workshop as they vary from one holiday period to another.
Note: There are no after-care facilities at St. Martins. Pick-ups need to be punctual or additional fees will be charged.

Lunch and snacks

All classes will have a meal or short snack break depending on when they start.
Please provide something for your children to eat and drink, as they will not be leaving the St. Martins grounds during the break.

Booking and Payment

To secure a place for your child, full payment must be confirmed 24 hours prior to the workshop commencing. Download an Enrolment Form (pdf), or contact us at the St Martins office with any further enquiries.

City of Stonnington Residents

Thanks to the City of Stonnington all workshops have limited spaces that are free to the residents of this Municipality. These spaces fill quickly so we advise you to book early.
Proof of residency must be provided with the enrollment form. eg: A bill with your name and address on it.
