The Foundation Studio

Ages 13 to 16

The Foundation Studio is for mature, committed and experienced young performers who are ready to be challenged even further. Tutored by Danielle Carter, The Foundation Studio provides training every Saturday morning each term. It is for advanced participants only. To get involved you must have successfully completed the Foundation Ensemble in a previous year or completed at least three terms of Acting Storm 2 or 3. If you have been learning skills in an organization other than St.Martins, you must be able to provide a detailed list of these classes before you can enroll.

Tutor: Danielle Carter & Sarah McCusker
Cost: $240 per term plus membership.
Studio meets: Saturday 10am to 1pm.

N.B: Participants in ‘The Foundation Studio’ can enroll in one term at a time. You do not have to commit to a complete year of training.

Creative Ensemble 08

Ages 18 to 25

The Creative Ensemble is for St. Martins members passionate about making and producing their own theatre. The ensemble meets every Wednesday evening where sessions focus on various areas including writing, clowning, physical theatre, movement, and improvisation. Most nights involve a presentation and feedback/discussion session. The Creative Ensemble then presents their work-in-progress as part of Hatched 08. In 2008, ensemble members will also have the opportunity of taking part in a special movement project for inclusion in Hatched 08.

Tutor/Curator: Lucy Angell.
Cost: $160 p/term plus membership. Movement Project [Optional]: $120 (once-off payment).
Ensemble meets: Wednesday 7.30 to 10pm.
Auditions: Wednesday 19 & Thursday 20 March, 7.00 to 10pm.

Performer's Ensemble 08

Ages 17 to 25

The Performers’ Ensemble is a group of 22 actors who train every Saturday.
The emphasis is on collaboration, combined risk-taking and the ability to support each other as they explore and develop. Some members may be more experienced than others, but all have the desire to do great acting in a highly professional and creative environment.
Terms one and two involve skills practice.
In term three, the ensemble rehearses for its major production The Suitcase and the Storm .

Tutor: Petra Kalive. Guest Tutors include: Kylie Trounson, Robyn McMicking and Mike McEvoy
Cost: $220 per term plus membership.
Ensemble meets: Saturday 10 to 5pm.
Auditions: Saturday 8 & Sunday 9, March.

Term 2: June 21 to August 9,
Term 3: October 11 to December 13.
Performance Season of Brain-dead: Wed 10 - Sat 13 December
