workshops, ages 13 - 16

Term 1: February 4 to March 15, [six weeks]
Term 2: April 21 to June 14, [eight weeks]
Term 3: July 28 to September 20, [eight weeks]
Term 4: October 20 to December 13, [eight weeks]
N.B: Term one fees cost $40 less. Workshop prices are subject to change.

Acting Storm Introduction to Laban

For Term Four, this four-week workshop will focus on the movement technique of Laban, taught by the wonderful Lucy Angell. Perfect for those starting out or for experienced actors wishing to free up their body in performance. Places are limited!
When: Term 4, runs in the last 4 weeks.
Beginning Thursday November 20th, 4:30 to 6:30pm.
Cost: $120 members & $170 non-members.

Acting Storm Monday

This eight-week workshop is designed for young actors who want to be challenged. Each term is taken by an industry professional with a particular area of expertise. Skills covered include: text – contemporary and Shakespeare, physicality and abstraction, improvisation, musical theatre, rehearsal and audition techniques, monologues, dialogue, clowning, imagination and impulse.
When: Terms 1 to 4, Monday 4:30 to 6:30pm.
Cost: $220 members & $270 non-members.

Acting Storm Tuesday

This eight-week workshop is designed for advanced 13–16 year old performers who want to keep developing their acting skills and start creating theatre as well. Each term is taken by an industry professional with a particular area of expertise. Skills covered include: text – contemporary and Shakespeare, physicality and abstraction, improvisation, musical theatre, rehearsal and audition techniques, monologues, dialogue, clowning, imagination and impulse.
When: Terms 1 to 4, Tuesday 4:30 to 6:30pm.
Cost: $220 members & $270 non-members.

Foundation Studio

The Foundation studio is for advanced, experienced students who crave a greater challenge as young actors in an ensemble environment.  Heavy emphasis is placed on risk taking and the actors instrument . We look at voice, movement, text work, character study,various acting techniques, Improvisation, Pulse and Impulse work.
In order to meet the requirements of the class you need to have completed the Foundation Ensemble or at least three terms of Acting Storm 2 or Acting Storm 3.
If you have studied in another school/institution other than St Martins you need to provide a detailed list of these classes before you enrol.
