Newsflash! The outcome from the TERM 2 DIRECTING Workshop – REAL TIME DIRECTING CHALLENGE at the Dog Theatre June 10 & 11 @ 8pm.  Scroll down for event information or RSVP on Facebook

Term 2: Directing

The course will culminate in a public laboratory directing night, in which you’ll be challenged to direct a short piece ‘live.’ You’ll be given the starting point for a short piece, either a text or a theme depending on your preference. You will then have to set the parameters of how your actors will explore the material. You will also be given three “time outs” to step in and refine how your actors are working, or completely turn it upside down if you’re not getting what you want. It’s the ultimate ‘live’ directing challenge that will give you, your colleagues and the public, unique insights into how directors build a piece of theatre from the ground up.

This set of works promises to be the most exciting real time directorial work you will see, while also being absolutely revealing in terms of how directors construct their works.
