Wanderlands audition

Ages 13 to 18

Wanderlands is a fantastical new play from award-winning dramatist Nic Velissaris, especially commissioned by St. Martins for our 13 to 18 year old members. Developed through the 2007 Foundation Ensemble, this beautiful new work will be given a full production in 2008. Wanderlands tells a wondrous tale of survival and adventure as a group of young outcasts embark upon an epic journey of discovery and salvation.

Creative Ensemble 08 audition

Ages 18 to 25

The Creative Ensemble is for St.Martins members passionate about making and producing their own theatre. The ensemble meets every Wednesday evening where sessions focus on various areas including writing, clowning, physical theatre, movement, and improvisation. Most nights involve a presentation and feedback/discussion session. The Creative Ensemble then presents their work-in-progress as part of Hatched 08. In 2008, ensemble members will also have the opportunity of taking part in a special movement project for inclusion in Hatched 08. Tutor/Curator: Lucy Angell.

AUDITIONS
will be held at the following times:
Wednesday 19 & Thursday 20 March, 7.00 to 10pm.
@ St Martins Youth Arts Centre, 28 St Martins Lane, South Yarra

It is a group audition. You must prepare a three minute piece of theatre.
It can be performed by you or you can bring in another performer to present it. It can involve any genre you like - physical theatre, musical theatre, text-based, circus, visual, absurdist or any other. It must involve an element of visual and/or sound design. This could be a photograph, a costume, a prop, a soundscape/song or sound effects either recorded or live.

What you will need on the day:
A three minute piece of theatre, a photo of yourself and a biography or CV if you have one.

Ensemble meets Wednesday 7.30 to 10pm.
Term 1: March 26 to May 28
Term 2: June 18 to July 30
Term 3: August 6 to September 21
Production Week: The week prior to Hatched 08 season.

$160 per term plus membership.

Performer's Ensemble 08 audition

Ages 17 to 25

The Performers’ Ensemble is a group of 22 actors who train every Saturday.
The emphasis is on collaboration, combined risk-taking and the ability to support each other as they explore and develop. Some members may be more experienced than others, but all have the desire to do great acting in a highly professional and creative environment.
Terms one and two involve skills practice. In term three, the ensemble rehearses for its major project Brain-dead. Tutor: Petra Kalive.

AUDITIONS
will be held at the following times:
Saturday 8 & Sunday 9 March,
@ St Martins Youth Arts Centre, 28 St Martins Lane, South Yarra

It is a group audition that lasts two hours. Wear loose comfortable clothing and no jewellery or make-up. Prepare two contrasting monologues. One of these may be a character piece. You must also prepare a one minute ‘special talent’. Previous special talents have included juggling crayons, whistling a movie theme with passion or dancing madly to a ‘Michael Jackson’ song. Whatever you choose present it theatrically with flair. We are looking for imaginative people who can laugh at themselves.

What you will need on the day: Two monologues, a special talent prepared, a photo of yourself and a biography or CV if you have one.
