THE DREAM FACTORY
RANDALL THEATRE
SEPTEMBER 29 – OCTOBER 2nd

A new Australian musical for teenagers written especially for St Martins, The Dream Factory creatively explores issues of mental illness, difference, tolerance and stigma from the perspective of  a group of young people.

Mira and Abby are two sisters in their last year of high school. It’s the school holidays, and unlike the rest of their mates, they both have to work in rubbish jobs during the break. Its only when they meet Gary and the world of the Dream Factory, a  magical warehouse where dreams are created and sold, that things start happen to colour their lives.

Featuring a band of St Martins members led by musical director David Peake, The Dream Factory is a pacey, joyous and touching theatre experience that depicts the lives of young people in a manner they are rarely shown.

Directed by Sarah McCusker. Written by Chris Mildren and Nick Verginis. Musical Direction by David Peake

Three short plays inspired by the photographs of Diane Arbus
DECEMBER  1st – 11th
IRENE MITCHELL STUDIO

A photograph is a secret about a secret. The more it tells you the less you know  -Diane Arbus

Taking the provocative and evocative photographs if Diane Arbus as a starting point emerging Melbourne writers Harley Hefferd, Casey Nicholls and Louris van de Geer have created three new short plays that showcase their unique voices and incredible visions. Performed by the 2010 Performers Ensemble, these plays are short masterpieces which give our extraordinary audition-based actors group a chance to really show what they are made of in their end of year showcase. A perfect way to end our 30th birthday year.

Directed by Susie Dee. Dramaturgy by Sarah Austin
