Thank you to all the wonderfiul creatives who shared their expertise throughout 2011.
St Martins recognizes that the journey of an emerging artist may last between 5-7 years and may happen anytime between the ages of 18-30 years (and sometimes beyond!).
With the help of the 2011 Catapult team and our Artistic Director St Martins will run a series of intensive workshops exploring the practical and creative skills one needs to expand as an emerging artist.
These skills intensives for artists over the age of 18 will continue from February 2012.

Theatre Labs are intensives, forums or workshops run by industry professionals and designed to expose emerging artists aged 18 and over to practices and ideas that develop their theatre-making skills.
1. Theatre Lab #1: Playwriting with Declan Greene
Sunday 22 May from 10am-5pm
In two parts, this theatre lab explores generative writing practices and experiences, and playwrights discuss their process and thoughts about the industry.
2. Theatre Lab #2: Producing Theatre with Trevor Matthews
Sunday June 26th at 10am-1pm
Industry professionals give you inside information into how to publicise your show, apply for funding, incorporate your theatre company and where to show your work.
3. Theatre Lab #3 : Directing Theatre and Rehearsal techniques with Adena Jacobs and Christian Leavesley
Sunday 28 August from 10am-5pm
Three theatre directors will open the door to their rehearsal rooms and let you see how they structure explorations, tackle text and character and devis

A practical workshop, this theatre lab is run by two award winning sound and light designers who will take you through a glossary of terms, introduce you to Q Lab and the basics of desk operation and working in rehearsals.
5. Theatre Lab #4: Performance Intensive with Petra Kalive
Sunday November 13th from 10am-5pm
Two outstanding theatre practitioners will lead a group through their approach to performance-making and craft, and develop skills in warm-up, training, voice and body technique.
